Trig ‘Families’

Trig Families is one of the first games that we’ve started working on. It is a maths game, inspired by the classic British card game Happy Families.

  • 2+ players aim to collect complete sets of 4 cards. Players request specific cards from others, and the person with the most completed sets at the end wins. Each set of 4 includes two function cards, a graph card and a solution card.
  • To complete the set you must work out and match the trigonometic functions to their corressponding graphs and solutions. Some solution cards will appear the same, to ensure you have the correct card check the colour of the card.
  • The colours match as follows : Sine – Red, Cosine – Blue and Tangent – Yellow.
  • If you want to play the game with a bit of a twist, you can remove some of the matching solution cards (E.g. Remove one or two of the ‘1’ solution cards) so that multiple people are in need of the same card and may not be able complete their family, creating even more of a competition between friends!

Sequencium (Odds/Evens)

Taking inspiration from the previous game, sequencium, we’ve created a “spin off” game surrounding odd and even numbers. We hope that by adding this aspect into the game we can help younger children with their understanding of odd and even numbers while also having fun while practicing!

  • The beginning setup is a grid of 1 to 100. You will need two different coloured pens and to draw a line from opposite corners in to the middle in each colour.
  • The goal is to create the longest continuous line by crossing over odd and even squares.
  • Each turn, a player makes a connecting line between 2 squares. If you’re starting on a square with an even number, you must then draw your line so that it finishes in a square occupying an odd number. This can be done on either directly adjacent or diagonal squares.
  • To begin, the first player takes ONE turn. Then, after the first move, the players then continue to take TWO turns each. This continues until there are no more playable tiles.
  • To win, you should aim to block your opponent as much as possible. This can be done in two ways :
    1. By giving the other player nowhere to go as you can only step on the tile opposite to yours.
    2. By going on the same tile as someone. Doing this will block your opponent as the only person that may continue from that tile is the first player to do so.
